We have relocated our herd of Simmental cows to Erath County, approximately 5 miles southwest of Dublin or 17 miles southwest of Stephenville. We are about an hour and a half drive from Fort Worth. Our new location is 241 CR 333 which is .5 mile of off FM1702 that goes from Dublin to HWY 36(between Hamilton and Comanche) and provides us more opportunities than we had in south Fort Worth. W have retained the nucleus of cows we purchased for our herd from some of the top breeders in the country; JDJ Ranch, Silvertowne Farms, Gateway, Sue Ann Cattle, and Triple Creek. We believe that cow families are very important and our selection of females is driven very much by the pedigrees of both dams.
Our goal is to produce an animal for our customer that is phenotypically correct, pleasing to view and with a pedigree that will provide predictable results. Our commitment to continual improvement is being accomplished through the use of extensive embryo transplant A. I. and the use of genetics from other breeders that will compliment our program. During 2006 we purchased two additional females that we will be using in our embryo program because of the continuous genetic impact their parents have had on the breed. The first is THSF Catalina, a direct daughter of 600U out of SPC 47C, this cow is a full sister the dam of Bar CK Vision which is currently with Accelerated Genetics. Our other new donor is Rhapsody from the Hooks and Hilbrands in Minnesota. She is sired by Dream On and her dam is Heart to Heart, a granddaughter of the 9A cow. We are very excited about the acquisition of these two females and believe that they will enhance our program and provided added depth to our current donor females from JDJ Ranch, JDJ First Star and Naughty Nights. First Star is a daughter of BH 600 Star, Denver Champion Female in 1998. In 2000, the Denver Champion Pen of 3 bulls contained 2 sons from BH 600 Star sired by Right Time (Queen of Denial son) and at the North American, First Star was named Senior Champion Female. Naughty Nights is a 9A daughter sired Night Moves, whose dam is the powerful PSF Bertha 46 D cow (JDJ donor program). The 9A cow has produced well over $600,000 worth of progeny with the most recent being Unforgettable 9A that sold for $61,500 in the 2003 Denver sale. Mating of our red females properly to homozygous black bulls will produce superior black offspring. We are dedicated to the use of consistent and superior bloodlines that will produce profitable and predictable genetics for all. We encourage you to give us a visit, see the results of our program and discuss what can be done for the mutual benefit of both. |
